FAQs
1. Why do I go solar?

Installing a solar panel system can be one of the smartest investment option available today, you can reduce or even eliminate your rising utility bills saving thousands of pesos each year.

2. Why do solar panels work for my home?

Clean renewable energy like solar power has proven to have environmental and health benefits. Nowadays, global climate change is a serious problem that all of us are facing, installing solar panel system reduces gas emissions and decreasing our reliance on fossil fuels that result to fewer air pollutants like sulfur dioxide and carbon footprint which can cause environmental and health problems.

3. What is Net Metering?

Net Metering is a power program offered by the utility company to buyback or credits the power that you export or send back to the grid (Boheco). It is now technically feasible to send power back to the grid by the use of approved Grid tie inverter and of course, having a power surplus generated by your solar power. under net metering, Boheco will install two meters on your feeder line: One to measure how much power your home consumed from Boheco and another to measure how much SURPLUS power you credited or gave Boheco when you generated more power than you consumed.

4. Do solar panels work in a blackout?
If your solar panel system is connected to the grid, you will have no power during a blackout. This is to prevent electricity utility repair-people from being injured by your panels sending/ exporting power back to the grid. However, there are certain inverters paired with a battery that you can purchase that provide backup power during a blackout.

5. How much will solar panel maintenance cost?
Solar panel systems are made of durable tempered glass and require little to no maintenance for the 25 years that they will generate power. In most cases, you don’t even need to clean your solar panels regularly because countries like the Philippines that has 2 seasons, during the rainy season, the rain will wash out dirt accumulated by the solar panels. If something does happen, most equipment manufacturers include a 10 year warranty.

6. Is my roof suitable for solar panels?
Southerly-facing roofs with no shade and enough space to fit a solar panel system are ideal for installing solar. If your roof is not capable, then ground mounted is another option.

7. Do I need to install solar batteries with my solar power system?
Solar power systems that include solar batteries, known as solar-plus- energy storage, are increasingly popular but can be pricey. Luckily, batteries are not necessary for most solar homeowners. As long as you are connected to the grid, your system does not need a battery: excess power goes back into the grid, and you can draw from the grid if you need more electricity than your panels can generate.
